Solution
Parking tracking by using
- Compass-based path detection
- Gyroscope-based path progress detection
- Time-based movement estimation
- User confirmation
A zone-based approach eliminates the need for complex GPS or sensor-heavy solutions while maintaining high accuracy.

Core Concept: Zone-Based Tracking
A parking space is a combination of multiple pathway with different angle connection.
Instead of pinpointing exact parking spots, divides the parking lot into paths, with each path further broken down into zones (small groups of 3-6 parking spots).
- Compass → Detects movement direction and turns.
- Gyroscope → Confirmation of position by detecting vibration when crossing speed bumps.
- Time Elapsed → Estimates progression along a path using average speed.
- User Confirmation → Ensures accuracy by allowing manual zone selection.
System Implementation
1. Mapping the Parking Lot into Paths & Zones
- Paths: Defined as straight-line routes between intersections or turn points.
